For our first print publication, we invited writers, artists, poets, illustrators, plant-and-mushroom-lovers and ecological thinkers from various disciplines to share their knowledge and manifest contemporary narratives around plant magic and plants as poison and remedy. Healing with plants is messy, complex and astonishing. Oscillating in the not so binary spectrum of poison and remedy, medicinal plants are powerful agents that hold the potential for resistance by being unpredictable in their existence and effects. This magazine is a poetic assemblage of companionship with plants, magic and care.

hooops is a community of plants and mushroom friends, founded by the duo Astarte Posch and Elisa Pieper in 2020. We aim to archive and collectively develop theoretical and practical feminist/anti-capitalist/decolonial knowledge cultures circulating around healing plants and ecologies of care. Currently, hooops is running a community library, a reading club in Berlin and is working in different formations on artistic research projects.
